The Chair welcomed Members. There were no apologies.
The Commissioner updated the Committee on her priorities for the forthcoming year.
The Commissioner agreed to keep the Committee updated on her engagement with Welsh Government and others to develop processes to tackle bullying.
The Motion was agreed.
The Committee provisionally agreed the outline forward work programme for the autumn term. The Committee agreed to discuss the issue further at its next meeting, alongside the responses to the Committee’s public consultation on its priorities.
Under Standing Order 17.24 Hefin David AM declared he was a former lecturer at Cardiff Metropolitan University.
The Committee scrutinised the Cabinet Secretary and the Minister on their areas of responsibility.
The Minister for Public Health and Social Services agreed to provide a copy of the letter sent to the Secretary of State for Health regarding the UK Childhood Obesity Strategy.
The Secretary for Health, Wellbeing and Sport agreed to provide:
· A note on the number of school nurses in Wales;
· An update on the review being undertaken by the Chief Nursing Officer on school nursing; and
· The latest plans on the new neonatal development in Cardiff.
The papers were noted.
The Motion was agreed.
